To maintain the cleanliness and extend the lifespan of your rubber border washable doormat, it's important to establish a regular cleaning routine. Regularly vacuuming, brushing, or shaking out the doormat will effectively remove loose dirt, dust, and debris that may accumulate over time. We suggest doing this at least once a week.
You can consider either hand washing or using a gentle machine washing cycle to effectively tackle tougher stains on your mat. Before machine washing, make sure to give the doormat a thorough vacuuming to remove any loose debris. When using a washing machine, opt for a gentle cycle at a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius. Try to wash the doormat on its own to prevent potential damage to other items. Remember to avoid overloading the machine beyond its maximum weight capacity! It's important not to use fabric softeners, bleaches, or detergents during the washing process; warm water is all you need. Using cleaning products can compromise the integrity of the doormat’s materials.
After washing, allow the doormat to air dry on a flat, breathable surface. This ensures that both the doormat and its backing dry thoroughly, preventing the development of any unwelcome mould or mildew. Before placing the doormat back on the floor, check it is fully dry condition on both the doormat front and its back, this will prevent unpleasant odours or potential damage to the doormat.
If you would like to refresh the border of the mat, just grab a soft cloth (microfibre, cotton, or a soft sponge is best) and use some tepid water to easily wipe away any dust or footprint marks. It's a quick and simple way to keep your mat looking fresh and clean!
